Sa Trati Dragii Mei Tovarasi! (Live Long My Beloved Comrades!)
On behalf of the Moron's Guide Committee, Peace Corps Romania's human red carpet for incoming Peace Corps Trainees, congratulations for beginning of what will likely be one of the most memorable times of your life. In order to give you a taste of the adventure that awaits you in Romania, we, the moroniest of Romania's PCV's, bumped our heads together to create the Moron's Welcome Guide to Peace Corps Romania. Inside you will find some helpful information about PC Romania for you and for your family, including an introduction to Romania as a country, a general description of the sort work that you will be diving into as a PCV, stories and musings from current and past PCRo Volunteers, and guide as to how you, your families and friends can share in the excitement and challenges that come with every Peace Corps experience.
To view the Moron's Guide, please click here and use the log-on and password that was provided to you from the country desk at Peace Corps Washington.
As you will be transitioning from life in the States to life abroad, I too will be transitioning from my two year stint as a Volunteer to serving a third year as one of your group's Peace Corps Volunteer Leaders. Without hesitation I can say my last two years serving in small town rural Transylvania were amazing, and that I hope all of you will have services as rich and challenging as mine has been. Until we meet in Romania, savor those last few carne asada burritos and drum bun (happy travels).
With warm regards,
Chris Fontanesi |
